The Role
The Security Operations Engineer will operate, monitor, administer and optimize PDA's security operations infrastructure in Islamabad, investigating security events and supporting incident response and threat hunting.
•Monitor and investigate alerts through SIEM, EDR/ XDR, firewalls, IDS/ IPS, FIM and other security platforms; perform incident triage, containment and follow-up •Maintain and optimize SIEM rules, dashboards, correlation rules, alert thresholds and critical log sources •Administer and troubleshoot security monitoring tools and support implementations, upgrades, integrations and vendor coordination •Analyze logs, conduct IOC searches and basic threat hunting •Configure and administer firewalls and security controls (policies, NAT, VPN, routing, IDS/ IPS, ACLs) and support switch and router configuration •Support vulnerability management, remediation tracking and closure of monitoring gaps •Maintain SOC playbooks, SOPs and investigation records and support audits and compliance •Prepare daily, weekly and monthly security operations reports including KPIs/ KRIs

Education, Experience and Skills Requirements
- Bachelor 16 Years: Cyber Security, Information Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering
Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience in SOC operations, security operations, network security, incident response, cybersecurity or information security, including SIEM, EDR/ XDR, firewalls, IDS/ IPS, Active Directory, vulnerability management and log analysis Preferred: Hands-on experience with FortiGate/ Cisco firewalls and switches/ routers; exposure to FortiSIEM, LogRhythm, Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel, Trend Micro, Microsoft Defender and Nessus
SIEM, Firewall Administration, Incident Response, Threat Hunting, Networking
•Security+, CEH, SC-200, CCNP, Fortinet, SIEM/ vendor-specific or equivalent security certifications preferred
